Methodology: how our numbers are sourced
Two kinds of numbers
Official published prices. Some brands (Patek Philippe, TAG Heuer's US menu, Seiko/Grand Seiko per-caliber rates) publish service prices. We link them directly.
Community-reported ranges. Most brands — notably Rolex — publish nothing. For these we aggregate dated owner reports from Rolex Forums, Omega Forums, WatchUSeek and Reddit, plus transparent dealer/watchmaker price tables (always labeled as such, never as 'official').
The data gate
- Every data point carries a source link and a year.
- Fewer than 10 independent data points for a figure → the page is flagged 'Small sample (N<10) — indicative range only' and figures are shown as estimates.
- Anything not sourced from the brand itself is labeled a community-reported range, never an official price.
Update cadence
Brand pages are reviewed quarterly and when brands announce price changes. Each page's sources carry their own dates so you can judge freshness yourself.
